The European Union has decided to reopen its external borders to fourteen countries from July 1. Tunisia is one of them!
The countries of the European Union and the Schengen space agreed on the reopening of the external borders to fourteen countries, excluding the United States, Brazil and Russia. They must still consult and decide on a final list.
The list contains 14 countries, including Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.
To these countries, China should be added, subject to reciprocity, that is to say provided that it welcomes travelers from the EU on its soil.
This document was developed at a meeting of ambassadors from the EU and the Schengen space and the EU countries have until Saturday, June 27 to give a final response, after which the Croatian presidency of the EU will decide the procedure to follow.
With this list and the gradual lifting of “travel prohibitions” within the EU countries from July 1, Europe wants to favor visitors from countries whose epidemiological situation is similar where better to that of the EU.
Essential condition to appear on this list a rate of new cases of COVID-19 near or below 16 per 100,000 inhabitants (average in the EU) over the last 14 days, stability or decrease in new cases, as well as the measures put in place to fight against the pandemic, including the practice of large-scale tests.
