Several French ambassadors accredited in the Middle East and in certain Maghreb countries have recently signed a common note regretting the position of Paris in the current war carried out by Israel against Gaza.
“Our position in favor of Israel at the start of the crisis is misunderstood in the Middle East and that it is in rupture with our traditionally balanced position between Israelis and Palestinians,” it was confirmed.
It was the newspaper Le Figaro which revealed this information quoting the testimony of a diplomat in Paris, adding that the said note had been sent to the Quai d’Orsay.
“It establishes a loss of credibility and influence of France and notes the bad image of our country in the Arab world. Then in a fairly diplomatic form, it suggests that all this is the results of the positions taken by the President of the Republic, “according to the diplomat who consulted the note and whose identity has not been revealed.
