This is a decision to support this country in its democratic transition.
On the occasion of an international conference of donors held in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron said he was in favor of the cancellation of Sudan’s debt to France, which amounts to some $ 5 billion (4.1 billion euros).
“We are in favor of a pure and simple cancellation of our claim towards Sudan,” he announced yesterday Monday, May 17, recalling France’s commitment to help Sudan to lighten its debt and reintegrate international financial circuits.
Macron has also announced that Paris will give Sudan a 1.5 billion dollars ready-relating. A decision that should state this African country to revive its economy and attract investors.
