French president Emmanuel Macron announced that the “thunder” ship was dispatched to the east of the Mediterranean to support rescue efforts in Gaza.
It is a naval building capable of carrying more than fifteen helicopters, intended to bring help during war or disaster.
It houses a care structure that can ensure surgery operations as close as possible to a combat area: two operating rooms, a radiology room, 69 beds, the equivalent of a hospital center of a city of 25,000 inhabitants.
However, the world specifies that this ship is also a military element of excellence. “In addition to its 200 sailors, thunder has also left with an on-board tactical group, that is to say units of the army with all their equipment: armored vehicle to the logistics truck,” it was explained.
He added that it is also a building capable of boarding more than fifteen helicopters, which can then lead strikes or surveillance operations.
