Maître SAMI BEN GHAZI, member of the Legal Support Committee for the Soumoud flotilla, reassured families and the Tunisian public on Friday morning: Tunisians intercepted by the Zionist entity are in good health.
The flotilla, made up of more than 40 ships and around 500 activists, was intercepted by the Israeli navy in international waters off Gaza. A total of 473 members of the Sumud world flotilla were arrested by the Israeli authorities, including 25 Tunisian citizens, said Sami Ben Ghazi.
The detainees were transferred to Kesdiout prison, located in the Negev desert pending their expulsion to their countries of origin.
Routine documents offered to activists
During his intervention on Mosaic FM, Me Ben Ghazi said that the documents presented by the Zionist forces to intercepted activists are routine documents, similar to those subject to activists during the previous attempts to break the Gaza blockade.
Before their participation in the flotilla, activists had been informed of the content of these documents in the event of interception.
“There are three documents: the first concerns the expulsion and recognition of a crime, the second relates to the crossing of the territorial waters of the occupying entity, the third concerns the acceleration of extradition,” said Me Ben Ghazi.
The lawyer added that the Tunisians and the Maghrebs detained have not signed and will sign any Israeli document presented to them. The legal team closely follows the situation to ensure the protection of their rights and ensure that their fundamental freedoms are respected.
