Concerns about the fate of Marina Ovsyannikova

It is called the “heroine” of the Russian news. Marina OVSYANNIKOVA, editor of the Public Channel Channel 1, burst, live, on the television news, by breaking a sign denouncing war against Ukraine. Since then, his appearance has gone around the world, particularly on social networks where Internet users have praised his courage and bravery.
Except that since last night, the journalist has been not found and even her lawyers cannot locate her. Indeed, OvSyannikova would have been arrested under the new law which prohibits qualifying the military action of Russia in “invasion” or of disseminating “fake news” on war.

“This means that they hide her from her lawyers and try to deprive her of legal assistance and, apparently, they try to prepare for the most severe proceedings,” said one of his lawyers at the BBC.

In a pre -recorded video before her bravery act, Marina Ovsyannikova described the war in criminal Ukraine and said that Russia was the aggressor.

“My father is Ukrainian, my mother is Russian. They have never been enemies. The necklace I wear is the symbol of the need for Russia to immediately arrest this fratricidal war. Our fraternal people can still make peace (…) Get out, manifest, do not be afraid, they cannot put us all in prison, “she said in this video.

The journalist is now risking sentences of up to 15 years in prison for the dissemination of “false information” on the army.

Note that the Russian regime is one of those who imprison journalists the most. Indeed, according to the European Journalists site, 22 journalists are currently behind bars in Russia.
