According to Dr. Paul Burton of Moderna, cancer vaccines, the heart, rare, autoimmune and infectious diseases will be available by 2030, thanks to mRNA technology, which made great progress during the pandemic of Cavid-19.
By 2030, we will have highly effective vaccines against cancer and heart disease
A personalized cancer vaccine?
MRNA could be applied to all kinds of pathological areas
Dr Paul Burton, medical director of the American pharmaceutical company Moderna gave an interview to the British newspaper Guardian. He makes predictions which can be said that they are revolutionary.
What about? By the end of the decade, we will have highly effective vaccines against cancer and heart disease, reveals Dr. Paul Burton, who explains that new cancer vaccines, heart disease and other conditions will be based on mRNA technology.
The American pharmaceutical company Moderna was indeed at the forefront of the COVVI-19 pandemic thanks to its mRNA (MEDUSER RNA) vaccine and it works, today on specific vaccines against various types of cancer.
“We will have this vaccine and it will be very effective and will save several hundred thousand, even millions of lives. I think we can offer personalized vaccines against cancer against different types of tumors to people from around the world, “he said.
He explains that a personalized cancer vaccine will consist in taking a tumor biopsy in a patient to sequence DNA, then identifying specific mutations present on sick cells (especially those related to cancer growth). After which, researchers are able to prepare a mRNA vaccine capable of stimulating immune cells to hit them with extreme precision.
The principle is the same as the anti-Cavid vaccine and according to Paul Burton, this mechanism of action would not only target cancer, but would offer advantages in several pathological fields.
He even claims that mRNA can be applied to all kinds of pathological areas; Against cancer, infectious diseases, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune diseases, rare diseases.
