Faced with a wave of resignations in his government for several days, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his resignation this Thursday, July 7, 2022 on the Perron of 10 Downing Street.
“It is clear that the will of the Conservative Party is now to have a new leader and therefore a new Prime Minister,” he admitted, announcing that he was leaving his duties at the head of the Conservative Party.
He immediately announced that the procedure for appointing a new leader of the Conservative Party would be initiated quickly, and that he had appointed a new government that would work with him until a new Prime Minister was appointed.
