A warship of the American navy operating in the Middle East intercepted this Thursday, October 19, 2023 several missiles near the Côtes du Yemen, two American officials told CNN.
One of the officials said the missiles had been fired by Houthi activists supported by Iran, engaged in an in progress conflict in Yemen. About 2 to 3 missiles were intercepted, according to the second manager.
Officials also said that it was not clear what the missiles were aimed. The missiles may have been pulled on the USS Carney or launched to another target.
