Fifteen months after closing its borders in order to curb contaminations to COVVI-19, Algeria is about to reopen them if the Algerian Minister of Health is believed, Abderrahmane Benbouzid.
Quoted by the official APS news agency, he announced, in fact, Thursday, May 13, that the scientific committee responsible for the coronavirus pandemic in Algeria had approved the upcoming reopening of the borders under “strict” conditions without announcing a precise date.
“We have given instructions, according to the guidelines of the scientific committee, with a view to soon authorizing the entry of Algerians and foreigners on the national territory, but in the context of very strict measures,” he said.
Thus, people arriving in Algeria will have to present a negative PCR test dated less than 36 hours and submit to other tests. Negative people will be allowed to enter, those positive will be subject to around forty days.
In addition, travelers from countries where variants of the virus are widespread will be subject to other exams.
