A serious air accident bereaved on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Algerian civil protection. Four of its members died after the crash of a reconnaissance plane belonging to the aerial civil protection fleet.
The drama occurred during a training mission, near Ferhat Abbas airport, located in the wilaya (governorate) in Jijel, east of the country.
According to the first information communicated by the local authorities, the device was carrying out a routine exercise as part of the continuing education program for specialized teams.
The victims, all experienced and trained for interventions in extreme conditions, participated in this training intended to strengthen the operational capacities of civil protection, in particular in terms of air surveillance and interventions in difficult environment.
Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident, but could only note the death of the four occupants of the aircraft. An investigation has been opened to determine the exact causes of the crash, which remain at this unknown stage.
