Two armed Palestinians opened fire this Monday, September 8 at a crossroads in Al Quds – East, an occupied and annexed by Israel in violation of international law. According to initial information relayed by the occupation authorities, the two men were “neutralized”.

Israeli rescue services report at least four dead and 15 injured in the shooting, according to Reuters agency. Magen David Adom, Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross, said that he had dispatched teams in the Ramot district.

The identity of the authors and their exact motivations are not yet known. An Israeli police spokesman spoke of Palestinians slaughtered after targeting, among other things, a bus, thus taking up the official terminology employed by the occupation forces.

This attack comes in a context of persistent tension in Al Quds, where Palestinian inhabitants live under military occupation and face daily restrictions, demolitions of housing and a continuous expansion of the Israeli colonies, considered illegal by international law.

Human rights organizations regularly denounce systemic violence against the Palestinian population in the Holy City.
