A third of the world’s population in confinement due to the coronavirus

With more than 400 thousand contaminations, the coronavirus has placed more than a third of the world’s population in confinement.

According to AFP data, more than 2.6 billion people around the world were called upon to remain confined to their homes to combat the spread of the virus.

Compulsory containment was imposed for at least 2.24 billion people distributed in at least 42 countries, a limitation of the movement for more than 226 million people and the curfews for more than 189 million people.

The number of deaths has increased from 15,000 to 18,455 and that of contaminated reached 413,000 people this Wednesday, March 25, 2020 against 340,000 the day before yesterday, in just 48 hours according to the count made by Bloomberg.

The largest number of people who died are in Italy with 6,820 dead for 69,000 contaminated people, double the number of deaths recorded in China, which has 3,281 deaths for 81,218 contaminations. In third position we find Spain with 2,696 deaths for 39,673 contaminated people.

Iran follow with 1934 dead and 24,811 contaminated; France (1100 dead and 22,300 contaminated); the United States (709 deaths for 53,308 contaminations); the United Kingdom (422 /8077); the Netherlands (276/5560); Germany (154 / 31,256), etc.
