A variant hitherto unknown would have been detected by experts from the Ihu Mediterranean infection in Marseille in early December.

The new variant was detected for the first time in patients in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region. According to scientists, the zero patient has returned from a trip to Cameroon.
This new variant is being examined at a time when the Marseille team said it has identified “46 changes” in the new variant.
