According to the revelations of the Italian newspaper La REPUBLICA, relayed by Le Parisien, a Italian history and philosophy teacher has just been dismissed for having dried the courses for 20 years over … 24 years of service.
Cinzia Paolina de Lio, 56, would have tinkered with a hundred various justifications and sixty-seven sick leave certificates at the various high schools in which it was used between September 1, 2001 and June 30221.
The teacher showed, according to the Italian Court of Cassation, to “permanent and absolute incompetence”.
To try to buy the silence of her classes, Cinzia Paolina from Lio used to distribute 9 and 10 out of 10 to all students.
A tactic “to prevent us from complaining and pointing out to management,” says a student, deploring the “random” preparation of the programs because of an “unprepared”, “confused” and “imprecise” teacher.
A ministerial inspection in 2017 started the end of this masquerade. At first instance of the long legal battle that followed, the sentence was lifted, before being confirmed again on appeal.
In detail, the teacher “was completely absent in the first ten years, and for the other fourteen, she was largely on sick leave, between forty and one hundred and ninety days a year”.
