A large asteroid will pass between the earth and the moon, this Saturday, March 25, 2023. If the event is exceptional, it remains without danger, according to the European space agency.
The asteroid baptized 2023 DZ2 measures between 40 and 70 meters in diameter and if there had been the slightest risk, its size would have been sufficient to destroy a city in the event of an impact with the earth.
The asteroid, spotted for the first time on the 27th, will spend about 175,000 kilometers from the earth, at a speed of 28,000 km/hour. So passage will serve as planetary defense training exercise, according to the European space agency.
