A rather rare phenomenon will take place on April 8 while the moon will be aligned directly with the sun, thus creating a total solar eclipse. The last eclipse of this kind took place in the 1970s’.
This world event will be visible from North America, so not in Tunisia, but the event will be broadcast live on the Internet.
Indeed, only a small part of the population, around 44 million people, not to mention tourists living in a narrow corridor in North America (Mexico, United States and Canada) will be able to marvel live.
The eclipse should start at 3:16 p.m. (Tunis time) and end at 5:32 p.m. the maximum, that is to say the moment when the sun will be completely overshadowed, will be reached around 4:30 p.m.
NASA proposes to follow the passage of the moon via its YouTube channel for all those who will not have the chance to see it directly. Likewise, the Tunis City of Sciences plan to organize activities for this purpose.
