In a symbolic gesture marking a turning point in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, 90 Palestinian prisoners were released by the Israeli authorities in exchange for the release of three hostages by Hamas. This exchange comes within the framework of the ceasefire agreement concluded last week, aiming to end hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

Released Palestinian prisoners include 69 women and 21 teenagers from occupied West Bank and Al Quds. These individuals, detained for various reasons, were transported by bus to Ramallah, where they were welcomed by thousands of people in a festive atmosphere.

This exchange is the result of intensive negotiations involving several international parties, including Qatar and Egypt, which have played a key role in mediation. He reflects both political and humanitarian considerations, each camp seeking to preserve his interests while responding to international pressure for a reduction in tensions.

On the Israeli side, the release of the three hostages marks a symbolic victory, while for Hamas, this exchange is presented as a success, reaffirming their ability to obtain concessions.

The cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas revolves around a six-week Truce with the release of hostages, negotiations for a permanent ceasefire and the reconstruction of Gaza.

The agreement also provides for the release of 33 Israeli hostages against a large number of Palestinian prisoners, accompanied by the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops.
