In Gaza where the situation remains catastrophic, the victims’ assessment continues to increase day by day. Since October 7, 2023, the occupation army has made more than 30,000 martyrs.
The results of the assault, launched on October 7 by the Zionist occupation army against the Gaza Strip, has further increased. As of March 4, 2024, it was 30,534 martyrs and 71,920 injured, announced the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
During the last 24 hours, 124 Palestinians fell into martyrs during assaults that continue without interruption.
The conditions of Hamas rejected
It is in this context of siege that negotiations on a Truce in the war between Hamas and the Zionist entity, resumed, this Monday, March 4 in Cairo after a call from the American vice-president Kamala Harris to an “immediate ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip threatened with famine.
Egypt, Qatar and the United States, which act as mediators, have been trying for weeks to obtain a Truce agreement allowing the release of hostages retained in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
If Hamas demands a return to the north of Gaza of the displaced, an increase in humanitarian aid, a final cease-fire and an Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza to accept an agreement, the Zionist entity, for its part, which does not participate in negotiations, rejects these conditions.
The UN warns
At the same time, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights expressed his fear, today that the war in Gaza led “to a much wider conflagration”, before the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
“I am deeply concerned about the fact that in this powder maker, any spark could lead to a much wider conflagration,” said Volker Türk, adding that “it would have implications for all countries in the Middle East, and for many others beyond”.
According to the UN, famine is now inevitable for 2.2 million of the 2.4 million inhabitants of Gaza on which the Zionist entity already required an air and maritime earthly blockade since the taking of power by Hamas in 2007.
