115 Palestinian children killed every day in Gaza, denounces Unicef

The Gaza Strip is today the “most dangerous in the world for a child”, alerts Unicef.

The owner of UNICEF, Catherine Russell, denounced yesterday before the Security Council, the “carnage” of which is the victim of the population of Gaza arguing that the Palestinian enclave is today “the most dangerous place in the world for a child”.

The manager added that humanitarian breaks are “not sufficient” to stop this killing.

“More than 5,300 Palestinian children were said to have been killed in just 46 days, this represents 115 children per day,” said Catherine Russell. “According to these figures, children represent 40% of the dead in Gaza. It is unprecedented ”.

She also mentioned 1,200 missing children, some probably under the rubble of the bombing.

Beyond the direct victims of the fighting, Catherine Russel worried about the risks of epidemics, due to the virtual absence of drinking water, especially for newborns, and malnutrition.

In updated figures, the Hamas government announced yesterday evening that almost 14,854 people were killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war, including 6,150 children. In addition, 36,000 people were reportedly injured.

The Hamas Ministry of Health assures its side that dozens of bodies litter the Northern streets of the Gaza Strip and that it is impossible to identify them because of the intensity of the strikes.
