Mama Mia! It is the great cultural fiesta in Bardo! The Italian ambassador Prunas landed last night to launch the photo exhibition “Dacourdou”-a word that smells good the Italian-Tunisian mixture! This little word that means “we understood, Fratelo” shows how our two countries are like two fingers of the hand, reports the Nova agency.
The exhibition, visible at the National Museum of Bardo until July 25, recounts in images more than two centuries of relations between Italy and Tunisia. A “very solid” relationship according to Prunas, even more historic “if we go back to Rome and Carthage”!
The director of the Tunisian Heritage Institute, Baccouche, underlined the cultural proximity between the two countries. “We celebrate 60 years of common work and fruitful collaboration” in sites like Carthage, Nabeul, Kerkouane and Uchi Maius.
The four photographers – Gobbi, Fiscletti, Silva and Mani – created a story in four sections: archaeological sites, Italian architecture of Tunis, commercial cooperation and memory of the Italian presence in Tunisia at the beginning of the 20th century.
The director of the Bardo, Haji, is excited: “These images transcend the linguistic barriers and take the visitor in an emotional journey that touches both the heart and the mind”.
