We all know it: for a quarter of a century, the Carnot high school has changed its name and has brought that of Bourguiba.
However, recently, there is new! Indeed, the buildings of the historic high school in downtown Tunis have recently experienced a new destination.
Indeed, the cultural services of the French Embassy will soon settle in the entire right wing of the school.
Thus, the old offices and apartments of the principal, the old chapel, the dormitories and the refectory as well as the small high school and the premises of the Charles de Gaulle media library will be grouped.
This will finally build a French cultural center worthy of the name and which will bring together the administrative premises of 87, avenue de la Liberté and integrated animation spaces.
Cinema, theater, galleries, media library, amphitheater, coffee and restaurant will give a new look to this wing of the old Carnot high school.
Finally, this project that has been sleeping for over twenty years is about to be realized. To the delight of French speakers who will also be able to benefit from renovated studies for learning the language of Voltaire.
As for the other wing of the school, it will continue to welcome the premises of the Bourguiba high school as well as the village hall, unfortunately closed and neglected.
