Last night started 3th Edition of the Tunisian Cinema Festival in Cannes (France) which is held from April 13 to 17, 2018.
Mr. and Mrs. Patrice Dalix, members of theCiné-Croisette association and organizers of the Tunisian Cinema Festival in Cannes, were among the guests of the 28th Edition of Carthage’s cinematographic days held in November 2017. They were in Tunisia to choose the films to program in Cannes.
This festival takes place as part of the actions of a big association of film buffs called Ciné-Croisette. This association, which has around 550 members, has among its activities, the organization of film festivals per country. Currently seven festivals for seven countries have emerged, including Japan, China, Quebec and of course Tunisia.
For a week, every evening, a Tunisian feature film, generally a fiction, is projected. Then, a debate takes place, which allows not only to talk about the film, but also of Tunisia and thus give the French the opportunity to know it better. To this end, as far as possible, directors and possibly actors, are invited to participate and enrich the discussions.
Each evening, there are around 120 to 130 members of the association, but also 80 to 90 spectators who have been passers -by who have seen the poster for a week and who come to attend the projection. Without forgetting that there is a very important Tunisian community in the department of the Alpes Maritimes (around 85,000 Tunisians).
The program for this 3rd edition has seven films: three fictions and four documentaries, including a short film.

Good luck to this new edition. Hopefully it will be as successful as the two previous editions and will thus help make Tunisian cinema known even more and even help promote the Tunisia destination.
