As part of its cultural activities, and in order to enhance the beautiful rise in Tunisian cinema in recent years, the permanent delegation of the Tunisian Republic with UNESCO is organizing the first edition of a cinematographic event entitled “Tunisia cinema windows” and this from December 10 to 13, 2018 in Paris.

This event is co-organized with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Tunisian Republic, the Tunisian National Center for Cinema and the Image and the National Office for Tunisian Tourism as well as with UNESCO and the International Organization of the Francophonie. Also contributed to the organization of this event, the Embassy of Tunisia in France, the Tunisian Consulate General in Paris, the Tunisia Consulate in Pantin, Tunisair, TFBANK as well as the French National Center for Cinema and the animated image …

This manifestation will coincide with the highly symbolic date of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

A new look at Tunisia, its cinema and its culture, such is the ambition of this event, which intends to open a new international cultural window on a Tunisia and a world in full evolution and boiling; The cinema being both a mirror and the tool of this change.

More than an entertainment, these days, will be an opportunity to share with the audience the values and the humanitarian principles conveyed and defended by this cinema, namely, freedom, dignity, tolerance and sharing.

Of Al Jayda until Hedi by the way Barely I open my eyes, Benzine, Mustapha Z, Tunis by Night, La Belle and La Meute, tomorrow from dawn, Aziz Rouhou and Fleur d’Aleppthe directors, actors, artists and all the participants in the creation of these works will be honored.

World cultural heritage will also find its place with the projection of the Tunisian documentary of Feriel Ben Mahmoud and Hanane Ben Mahmoud, Ghadames, the pearl of the Sahara followed by a debate.

Several windows will be opened on this occasion, at the headquarters of the United Nations Education, Science and Culture, at the headquarters of the International Organization of La Francophonie, at the headquarters of the Maison de Tunisie at the International University City in Paris as well as two other places of projection in order to get closer to Tunisian and French film buffs and those who wish to discover the seventh art.

These are the objectives of the first edition of “Tunisia cinema windows”. These purposes will be reinforced and extended during the next editions of this event which will be annual in order to benefit from the opening offered to the world by UNESCO and the OIF and the privileged place occupied by the city of Paris on the international artistic chessboard.
