Tunisia and Jordan in the spotlight

This 14th session of the Arabic Mustapha Azzouz Arab Prize for children’s literature of the ATB, was called “Souad Affès Edition”, in tribute to a lady who gave so much during her life to culture, knowledge, young people and children for their development, and for this Arabic Mustapha Azzouz Prize. Souad Sétès left us a certain August 12, 2022.

At the opening of this literary meeting, Thursday, June 1, 2023, a vibrant tribute was given to the deceased by the testimony of her closest friend, Ms. Faïza Kéfi, former minister and ambassador, and by a video report retracing her career, which she gave herself for culture in general and presenting many testimonies of those who rubbed shoulders.

Subsequently, it was Mr. Mohamed Aït Mihoub who officially opened this edition, which Feue Souad Affès wanted to bequeath to him the responsibility of directing the Arabic Mustapha Azzouz Prize for children’s literature of the ATB.

After which, the debates were started by the various interventions scheduled during this day on Thursday, on the part of the speakers from a few Arab countries including Algeria, Morocco and Bahrain, in addition to the Tunisian participants.

The next day Friday, June 2, was devoted to the awards ceremony for the winners among the 145 participants in this edition, from around twenty Arab countries, in addition to the prices of encouragement to the literature neophytes among our students.

The list of this 14th edition has established itself as follows:

Prix du novel de Libre Expression (10 thousand dinars):

Aïssa Jebabli (Tunisia) for her novel “Ajinahat el-Yassamine” (“The wings of jasmine”).

Special prize on the literature of the challenge and self -assertion (12 thousand dinars):

Asma Zeïtoun (Jordan) for his novel “At -ifl Alladhi Ghayara al-Hykayet” (“The child who changed tales”).

Encouragement price (thousand dinars):

Selma Abdelli (Sidi Bouzid) for his novel “Asseïf Wel Qalb” (“The sword and the heart”).
Mohamed Habibi (Borj El-Amri) for his novel “Al-iqab Wel Bouma” (“The Vulture and the Hibou”).
Mohamed Amine Derouaq (Morocco): for his novel “Mad Wa Faqd” (“Don et deprivation”).
