Filmmaker and aesthet, Kalthoum Bornaz was born on August 24, ninety years ago. Died on September 3 in a domestic accident, her memory remains lively and now a street bears his name.
Kalthoum Bornaz has left us many films including “Chtar Mhaba” and “Kesswa” remain unforgettable.
She also made “three characters in search of a theater”, a film which in 1987, returned to the mobilizations which had saved the municipal theater of demolition and told the story of the venerable candy of Tunis.
This film by Kalthoum Bornaz returns to the front of news while civil society is mobilizing today so that the Lac Hotel does not disappear.
Peace to the soul of an exemplary filmmaker who was in 1968 one of the first Tunisian women to graduate from the Institute of Advanced Cinematographic Studies “Idhec”.
