The film “Timbuktu” by Mauritanian filmmaker and producer Abderrahmane Sissako will be broadcast this Saturday, January 24 at the Le Rio cinema in Tunis from 5 p.m.
Timbuktu is a film lasting 1h40 and was made in France in 2014 with the participation of Ibrahim Ahmed (Kidane), Toulou Kiki (Satima), Abel Jafri (Abdelkrim), Fatouma Diawara (the singer), Hichem Yaacoubi (jihadist), Mehdi Ag Mohamed (Issan), Layla Walet Mohamed (Toya).

Not far from Timbuktu fell under the yoke of religious extremists, Kidane leads a simple and peaceful life in the dunes, surrounded by his wife Satima, his daughter Toya and Issan, his little shepherd aged 12 years.
In the city, the inhabitants suffer, helpless, the regime of terror of the jihadists who took their faith hostage. No more music and laughter, cigarettes and even football … Women have become shadows trying to resist dignity. Improvised courts make their sentences absurd and tragic every day.
Kidane and his family seem a time spared by the Chaos de Timbuktu. But their destiny rocks the day Kidane accidentally kills Amadou the fisherman who attacked his favorite cow.
