Because it is an exceptional edition in an exceptional situation, the film opening film of Carthage (JCC) of Saturday 07 November 2020 will not be ordinary. Instead of the usual feature film, guests will be able to see six short films whose directors will celebrate six films which have deeply impressed their directors.
To this end, the National Center for Cinema and Image (CNCI) had launched a call for tenders to submit projects of short films around the theme “Remake favorite JCC 1966-2019”. The candidates had to choose to work on one of the films that had marked the JCC from 1966 to 2019.
A committee, chaired by Kehna Attia, had subsequently examined the large number of short films projects which had been submitted to him and had selected six, which will be in the spotlight during the opening ceremony of this 31st edition of the JCC.

– The passing time Filmly inspired by Hyena sun From Ridha Behi, who had participated in the fifteen directors at the Cannes Film Festival in 1977, had received several awards at several festivals and had marked the JCC in 1978.

– In the footsteps of Essaïda Filmly inspired by Essaida by Mohamed Zran. Faouzi Chelbi chose to present his short film alongside Mohamed Zran and Hichem Rostom, who had played the main role in the film.

The six films »Rémake favorite JCC 1966-2019″ are an initiative of the JCC and will be produced by the CNCI and will be lasting between 10 and 15 min.
