Fleury of tourism in southwest Tunisia, the Dar Cherait museum has just closed its doors.
This closure comes after a long period of professional conflict between employees and management. This crisis had recalled, brought about the closure of the Dar Cherait Hotel, an emblematic four stars of tourism development in the region.
These successive closures take place in a disturbed social context marked in the Tozuer region by the unemployment of 300 employees in the hotel sector.
A rally took place last Saturday at the headquarters of the Regional Labor Union (UGTT) in order to find a solution to the situation of the staff unemployed.
According to our sources in Tozeur, the collections of the Dar Cherait Museum are in the process of being transferred to the capital. Would that mean a final closure of what was the first private museum in the region and, probably, throughout Tunisia?
Case to follow.
