CIFF 2024: specialized workshops to support filmmakers
The Cairo Film International Film Festival (CIFF) announces the organization of several workshops on the sidelines of its 45th edition, scheduled for 13 to 22 November 2024. This initiative is part of the support and development of the film industry by the festival, as well as its contribution to the future of cinema.
The festival administration firmly believes that film festivals play a key role going far beyond film screenings. They offer essential support for filmmakers, encourage them and help improve their skills and expand their creative visions through workshops.
For this year, the CIFF is organizing three main workshops. The first will tackle the theme ” Use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the design and mixing of sound“. In collaboration with the Fulbright commission in Egypt, this workshop will showcase Monte Taylor, a renowned American sound designer. He will share with the participants his rich experience and present the advanced technologies used in the design and mixing of the sound generated by the AI.
The second workshop, entitled ” Present projects to producers and financiers“, Will take place in collaboration with Film Independent and the United States Embassy in Cairo. It aims to help filmmakers present their projects in a professional manner to attract the attention of financiers and producers, and thus transform their cinematographic vision into a tangible reality.
Finally, the third workshop will focus on ” Present scenarios to producers and financiers ”. This workshop will bring together several mentors in the field of scenarios’ writing, notably Mohamed Hussein and Hossam El Kholy. Participants will learn to present their scenarios so as to capture the interest of producers and financiers, thus increasing their chances of transforming their ideas into successful films.
