The film “Jusclades April 9, 1938” will be screened this evening Tuesday, December 16 at the Al Hamra cinema in Tunis from 7 p.m.

Made in 2012, the film jostled April 9, 1938 returns to a rather unknown part of history.

Synopsis:

On April 9, 1938, in an old district of Tunis, Choucha, matron of a house closed by the French army, learns that his nephew Ali was killed during the demonstrations …

Co-directed by the young director Sawssen Saya and the director Tarak Khalladi, Sawssen Saya who herself wrote the script for this film, revealed to us the secret of such a title, jostled April 9, 1938, is a mixture between a scene where French soldiers are jostling at the entrance to the brothel to see the girls of joy and also a wink for the protesters of this fateful day.

The actors who participated in the production of this film are: Smaya Rhaïem, Sondos Belhassen, Sawssen Maalej, Nejma Zghidi, Najoua Zouhaier, Rim Hamrouni, Lobna Noomene and Bilel Briki.

The young screenwriter and director is being written for a long and a short film that will be born soon.

Paricipation at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013

The film “Jourludes April 9, 1938” was selected in official competition at the Festival Views of Africa in Montreal as well as at the Arab film festival in Malmö in Sweden and at the Cannes Festival in 2013.

The director and scriptwriter won the certificate of appreciation at the International Film Festival in Baghdad in 2013.
