Very invested in Tunisian-French friendship and promoter of decentralized cooperation projects between France and Tunisia, Christian Estrosi, mayor of Nice and president of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, spoke today at the opening of the Rencontres Tuniçoises at the Mediterranean University Center of Nice.
This meeting focused on the proximity between Nice and Djerba, both listed as UNESCO world heritage sites.
During his opening speech, Christian Estrosi said: “Tunisia is a country that I love”. The mayor of Nice also highlighted Nice’s links with Djerba, whose heritage he described as extraordinary.
Finally, Christian Estrosi underlined that “tourism constitutes a major element for the revival of growth in Tunisia”, a country where he has “often stayed with family”.
Organized by the Voice of Tunisians Abroad, this day saw the signing of a protocol on good practices in the field of tourism between the tourism authorities of Nice and Djerba.
Other speeches were delivered this Friday, November 21, including those of Riadh Jaidane and Amor Barhoumi (deputies for Tunisians Abroad, ARP) and Bedis Belhadj Ali (deputy for Djerba and president of the parliamentary committee on Tourism at the ARP).
