The recent craze for books suggests that Tunisians have finally seized the importance of reading. A few days after the “Avenue Lit” demonstration which took place on April 19, 2013 on Avenue Habib Bourguiba, a second event related to the book and reading will be held this Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 4:30 p.m., on the same avenue and this on the occasion of the International Book Day.
Indeed, the Young International Chamber of Tunis, Nes Di Cameron, the Association Club Photo de Tunis, and the Reading Corner organize a “cultural event to encourage people to read, my book is yours.” A simple principle which consists in exchanging old books for other books, of your choice.
The Association Club Photo de Tunis, on the other hand, will offer participants of bookmarks with photos on the theme “Culture & art”. On these bookmarks, readers will be able to write a few words and slip them into the books they will exchange.
Circles of debate will animate the demonstration, having the books read as a subject.
A Facebook page has been created for the event, and the organizers hope for a massive participation of the friends of the book.
