It is the Austrian accordionist Jakob Steinkellner who will inaugurate on November 19, the Acropolium Extended Sessions cycle, an extension of Musical October by Carthage.

The musical October of Carthage, this musical event founded by Mustapha El Okby to Acropolium is now deployed on several spaces, including consecrated churches, with the support of the Archbishop of Tunis. Always innovative, the musical October of Carthage has just launched a series of concerts intended to continue all year round.

Entitled Acropolium Extended Sessions, this series begins in November with the arrival in Tunisia of the Austrian accordionist Jakob Steinkellner. This first concert will take place on November 19 in the Goulette church while the musician will also participate in musical meetings in schools and meetings with Tunisian musicians.

Accordionist Jakob Steinkellner, from Haute-Austria, puts the Styria accordion in the spotlight by showing it in a new music. It extracts it from its traditional context, that of folk and popular music, to produce it in much more varied genres.

Jakob Steinkellner thus combines the traditional sounds of alpine folklore with modern elements, which allows him to cover a broad musical spectrum, which extends from popular music to classical, including tango.

Jakob Steinkellner is an accordionist, Harmonicist Styrian and composer. It is especially in his experimental compositions that the artist uses traditional sound models particular to Alpine popular music.

Note that for four years, the musical October of Carthage, this festival of classical and neo-traditional music takes place in several churches devoted in partnership with the archdiocese of Tunis.

The Acropolium Extended Sessions series should alternately present Tunisian and foreign artists.
