The Alliance Française is back in Tunisia after more than sixty years of absence.
Indeed, this organization of promoting French culture and language has long had a storefront in Tunis where it was installed in the premises of the current Maison de la Culture Ibn Khaldoun.
Initially, these premises belonged to the company Dante Alighieri and were confiscated after the Second World War, like many other goods belonging to Italy.
After the independence of Tunisia, the premises were devoted to the new authorities who installed a house of culture and associations there.
Shot this page of history, let’s come back to news by signaling that the Alliance Française will soon be back in Tunisia, precisely in Gafsa and Médenine where it should settle.
In these two governorates of the South, the Alliance Française wishes to contribute to the teaching of the French language and to cultural development.
The opening of these two antennas of the Alliance is scheduled for 2017.
