According to a press release on Monday, October 30, an agreement was signed between the Carthage cinematographic days (JCC) and the collective Be Tounsi.
On the sidelines of this prestigious festival, Tunisian crafts will also be in the spotlight.
A shop that will bear the name of the collective has been installed at Avenue Habib Bourguiba, it will welcome six experienced craftsmen who will exhibit their high -end products throughout the festival.
Festival management has trusted the collective Be tounsi By giving it carte blanche for the selection of products and articles to be exhibited. There will be jewelry, clothing, pottery and a flagship product of the Tunisian terroir.
The store will be open to the public from November 04, 2017 from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm.
The primary objective of this partnership is to show what we have best in Tunisian crafts, and to make this shop a showcase on the world.
The festival’s brand guests, festival -goers and passers -by on Avenue Habib Bourguiba will have the pleasure of discovering this beautiful space created, in an ecological concern, entirely of recycled materials, and which will be the setting of beautiful Tunisian craft products.
The collective Be tounsiwhich aims to promote Tunisian crafts and heritage in particular and Made in Tunisia in general, was launched on Facebook in April 2016 by Ms. Faten Abdelkafi, who was very quickly joined by Lina Ben Mhenni, Hela Bennour, Bouchra Moussaoui, Raja Ayadi, Emna El Golli, Monia Jaafar and Amel Jegham.
In just over a year, these eight women, in love with Tunisian crafts and passionate about authenticity, have done excellent work and organized several important events that allowed several of our craftsmen to promote their products. For example, they were the source of the campaign to promote the Maryoul Fadhilawhich came out of the closet of our grandmothers and even traveled around the world.
This partnership is really a very good initiative. Especially since for several days, the looks of the world, especially artistic, will be on Tunisia. I hope that also our Tunisian artists that the public will play the game and will dress in Tounsi during all this festival.
On October 26, Ms. Faten Abdelkafi was the guest of the show Suite On Express FM, she just talked about the collective there Be tounsiof its achievements and this partnership with the JCC. You can listen to it here.
Good luck to this partnership.
