An inforction for vice of form was pronounced in favor of rapper Ahmed Ben Ahmed (alias Klay BBJ), his lawyer announced to the radios.
Sentenced to six months in prison with immediate effect at first instance, Klay BBJ appeared, today October 17, 2013, on appeal before the Grombalia court of first instance.
Indeed, on September 26, 2013, Klay BBJ was deemed and charged with outrageous public officials during the exercise of their functions (for a song insulting the police) on the sidelines of a concert on August 22, on the stage of the Hammamet International Festival; damage to morality and defamation.
Unsurprisingly, the case sparked a wave of criticism of police and justice, accused of being under the control of a “Nahdhaoui government”. NGOs had also denounced the restriction of freedom of expression.
