On the orders of the Head of State, Kaïs Saïed, the 38th edition of the International Book Fair of Tunis (Filt) will indeed take place from April 19 to 28, 2024, at the Kram exhibition center in Tunis, as initially planned.

In an intervention on the Attemptiaa TV channel, Walid Hajjem, adviser to the President of the Kais Saied Republic, ended the controversy aroused by the postponement of the International Book Fair. Indeed, he said that, following a presidential directive, the 38th edition of this event will indeed take place from April 19 to 28, 2024, at the Kram exhibition center in Tunis, as initially planned.

The National Establishment for the Promotion of Festivals and Cultural and Artistic events, under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs,, it should be recalled, announced on February 10 the postponement of the filt, without providing details as to the reasons for this decision.

A sudden and late announcement which was strongly denounced by publishers, writers and readers, especially since this postponement is not a first. In recent years, the International Book Fair has generally been generally postponed due to often logistical difficulties.
