The Carthage Cinematographic Days have revealed the full list of films selected for their 36th edition. Forty-two Arab and African works will compete in the documentary, fiction and short film categories, with a strong Tunisian presence.
General overview
A few days before the traditional meeting with the press scheduled for December 4 at the Théâtre des Jeunes Créateurs, the JCC organizing committee has unveiled the complete selection for its 36th edition, which will be held from December 13 to 20, 2025.
This edition brings together 42 films from 19 countries, divided into three major competitions. Nine Tunisian works are among the contenders for the Tanit.
The selection covers a wide geographical area, from Sahelian and southern Africa to the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula, confirming the pan-African and Arab dimension of the festival.
Feature-length documentaries: 12 works in the running
Twelve documentaries from eight countries will compete for the Golden Tanit, with three Tunisian productions. The themes covered range from the relationship to the territory to questions of memory, including intimate or political stories.

Fourteen fictions will compete for the Golden Tanit, reflecting a range of styles and dramaturgies. Three Tunisian directors stand out in this category: Erige Sehiri, Kaouther Ben Hania and Amel Guellaty.
