JCC 2024 – The official poster is unveiled

The 35ᵉ edition of Carthage’s cinematographic days (JCC), scheduled for December 14 to 21, 2024, has just revealed its official poster, arousing a wave of admiration and curiosity. On a captivating blue background, calligraphy letters intertwine in a harmonious movement, evoking both inheritance and modernity. This visual creation brings the signing of the Tunisian artist of international renown El Seedknown for his art which transcends cultural and temporal boundaries.

The press release from the festival describes this work as a meeting between Arabic calligraphy and cinema, giving birth to “a new visual poetry that touches the soul before the gaze”. Through its circular lines and bewitching colors, the poster reflects the Arab-African identity of JCCs while opening up to world cultures. It embodies a celebration of humans and loyalty to festival commitments.

An aesthetic breakup

If the emblematic logo of the JCC remains present, the rest of the poster contrasts radically with the visuals of previous editions. Innovative, daring and almost disconcerting, it moves away from the usual codes to offer a more abstract and contemporary approach. Could this visual transformation symbolize a wider renewal for the festival? The question remains open.

One thing is certain: this poster, as surprising as it is elegant, will not leave anyone indifferent. It marks a step in the JCC’s desire to reinvent themselves, while remaining rooted in their essence. See you on December 14 to discover if this aesthetic audacity will echo in the programming and the artistic choices of this 35ᵉ edition. In the meantime, this work intrigues, inspires and, above all, invites you to dream.
