Following the Liberation of Slim Abida artists, Mahmoud Ayed, Yahya Dridi and Abdallah Yahya, Jazz Oil is organizing a concert at the Ezzahra an amphitheater on Saturday August 16.

The four artists had been imprisoned on September 21, 2013 for the controversial law 52 for cannabis consumption. An arrest denounced at the time as “arbitrary” by many human rights defenders.

They were released this year on the occasion of the Festival of the Republic, on July 25, following a grace of the President of the Republic Moncef Marzouki.

Jazz Oil had not played for almost a year, following the imprisonment of the bassist and co-founder of the Slim Abida group as well as their keyboardist Mahmoud Ayed.

The group has three other members: Nidhal Jaoua (Qanun), Hammami Med Sahbi (battery) and Skander Ben Abid (Clarinet). To listen to their music click here
The entry tickets at the concert cost 10 dinars and its available for sale at the Maison de la Culture Ibn Rachiq in Tunis and the Ezzahra amphitheater.

Part of the income will be donated to the families of liberated artists.
