The Tunisian feature film “Nhébék Hédi” has just won the prize for the best French -speaking film in 2017 at the 22nd Ceremony of Lights in the International Press organized in Paris.

It should be noted that this Tunisian film with the headliner Majd Mâtoura and Rym Ben Messaoued came out of the batch even though there was in the same competition films like “Just the end of the world” Xavier Dolan, awarded in Cannes and nominated in several category of the French -speaking festival or even Mimosas of the director Olivier Laxe and more than 80 films which contributed for this prestigious The international press in France.

It should be recalled that “Nhébék Hédi” has already won several prizes awarded in 2016 in Bastia, Bordeaux, Athens, Tunis, especially the prize for the best film in the 66th edition of the Berlinale, and the silver bear for the best actor for Majd Mastoura.

This feature film is the fruit of tripartite cooperation between Tunisia, France and Belgium. Directed by Mohamed Ben Attia and produced by Dora Bouchoucha and the Dardennes brothers, “Nhébék Hédi” has toured the world proving that Tunisian cinema has something to fascinate an increasingly international audience.
