Golden Globes® to Honor Brazilian Talent with a Special Tribute in 2026

In March 2026, Brazil will take center stage in the global film and television landscape. The Golden Globes® have announced a special tribute event in Rio de Janeiro, organized in partnership with Urland Ventures, to celebrate the exceptional creativity and artistry of Brazilian talent. This initiative reflects the Globes’ ongoing commitment to recognizing international voices while highlighting local storytelling on the world stage.

“The Golden Globes have a long tradition of honoring international talent, and Brazil has given the world some of its most remarkable voices, stories, and artistic visions,” said Helen Hoehne, President of the Golden Globes. “We are thrilled to celebrate these outstanding Latin American artists.”

This announcement is part of the Golden Globes’ broader strategy to expand their global presence and celebrate the diversity of narratives and creators beyond Hollywood. In November 2024, the organization hosted a special evening in Cairo, held alongside the Cairo International Film Festival, where Egyptian screen legends Hussein Fahmy and Yousra were honored with the Omar Sharif Award — a symbolic recognition of the strong connection between the Golden Globes and the Arab world. That event marked a significant step in the Globes’ mission to bridge cultures and celebrate creativity across continents. With the upcoming celebration in Rio de Janeiro, that mission now enters a new and vibrant chapter, connecting regional talent to the global entertainment community.

The Rio event is being produced by Uri Singer, CEO of Passage Pictures, in collaboration with entertainment entrepreneur Orlando John. “We’re grateful to partner with the Golden Globes and turn the world’s attention to the cultural and artistic powerhouse Brazil has become,” said Singer. “The Globes’ long-standing history of supporting and elevating international artists will shine brightly, infused with the unmistakable energy and flair that only Brazil can bring.”

While details remain under wraps, organizers have promised more announcements in early 2026. The tribute will take place ahead of the 83rd Annual Golden Globes, airing live on Sunday, January 11, 2026 (8:00–11:00 PM ET / 5:00–8:00 PM PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ in the United States. Nominations for the awards will be revealed on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Known as “Hollywood’s Party of the Year®,” the Golden Globes remain the world’s largest event honoring excellence in both film and television. Since its inception in 1944, the ceremony has combined glamour with purpose, contributing over $55 million in the past three decades to entertainment-related charities, including scholarship programs, film preservation efforts, and humanitarian initiatives. The Globes have also supported advocacy programs designed to create greater opportunities for underrepresented communities in Hollywood.

Produced and organized by Dick Clark Productions, the Golden Globes are broadcast in more than 185 countries and territories, reaching a global audience that reflects the very diversity they celebrate. In this context, the upcoming Brazilian tribute represents a major step forward in the Globes’ ongoing effort to broaden their cultural reach and recognize artistic excellence across every corner of the world.

The Rio initiative also underscores the cultural and diplomatic role of cinema. By celebrating Brazil — a country known for its artistic diversity and vibrant creativity — the Golden Globes are offering an international platform to voices that deserve global visibility. The tribute will not only showcase the richness of Brazilian cinema and television but will also stand as a powerful symbol of cultural exchange and creative unity.

Ultimately, the 2026 Golden Globes event in Rio de Janeiro will be far more than a ceremony — it will be a celebration of storytelling, a bridge between cultures, and a reaffirmation of the Golden Globes’ enduring commitment to the global artistic community. Anticipation is already high, and all eyes are now on Brazil, where the world will soon gather to honor a nation whose creative energy continues to captivate and inspire.
