A Highly Anticipated Announcement

The Golden Globes® have announced that Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Marshall will reveal the nominations for the 83rd edition of the prestigious ceremony on Monday, December 8, 2025. The announcement will begin at 8:15 a.m. ET / 2:15 p.m. Tunis time on CBSNews.com (and through the CBS News app), followed by eleven exclusive categories unveiled at 8:30 a.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. Tunis time on CBS Mornings. Viewers can also follow the announcement live on the CBS News YouTube and TikTok channels. Each category will be shared across the Golden Globes’ official social media accounts, with the complete list of nominees available immediately afterward on GoldenGlobes.com.

The 83rd Edition: The First Major Awards Show of the Season

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes®, the first major event of the awards season, will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and will be hosted by comedian and actress Nikki Glaser, a Golden Globe, GRAMMY® and Emmy® nominee. The ceremony will air live on CBS from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 to 5:00 a.m. Tunis time, and will also stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.*

This Year’s Presenters

Actor, comedian, writer, producer, and director Marlon Wayans, alongside actress, philanthropist, and U.S. Air Force veteran Skye P. Marshall, will unveil all 28 award categories — including one brand-new category: Best Podcast.

Wayans, whose career spans film, television, and stand-up comedy, has earned more than $736 million at the domestic box office and over $1 billion worldwide. He is currently touring with his Wild Child comedy show, recently appeared in HIM, a psychological sports thriller produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, and has just wrapped production on Scary Movie 6 for Miramax and Paramount Pictures — a film he also wrote and produced, slated for release in 2026.

Skye P. Marshall has built a reputation for her powerful and magnetic performances across film and television. She currently stars opposite Academy Award winner Kathy Bates in CBS’s highly anticipated drama Matlock as Olympia Lawrence and is also known for her roles as Mambo Marie in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and as Kara Fowdy in The CW’s Black Lightning, based on the DC Comics universe.

Verified Voting and Global Expansion

As in previous years, voting will be overseen by KPMG LLP. Melissa Taylor, Vice Chair, Clients & Markets at KPMG, stated: “Serving as the official vote tabulator for the 83rd Annual Golden Globes is a privilege for KPMG. We are proud to support this iconic celebration of talent, demonstrating our commitment to quality, integrity, and excellence.”

In recent years, the Golden Globes® have expanded globally by integrating international voters from every continent, reflecting a broader and more inclusive vision. This year, 399 voters from 76 countries will participate, embodying the organization’s growing commitment to diversity and global representation. I have the honor of being one of these international voters, representing Tunisia in this prestigious body.

Categories and New Features

Each category will feature six nominees, except for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which will include eight.

Film categories include: Best Motion Picture – Drama; Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy; Best Animated Motion Picture; Best Non-English Language Motion Picture; Best Director; Best Screenplay; Best Original Score; Best Original Song; and all acting categories for leading and supporting performances.

Television categories include: Best Television Series – Drama; Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy; Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television; as well as acting awards for female and male performances in all genres, including supporting roles. A category will also recognize the Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

A New Category: Best Podcast

For the first time, the Golden Globes introduce a Best Podcast category, highlighting the creative and cultural importance of this growing medium and reflecting the evolution of how audiences around the world engage with entertainment.

A Legacy of Distinguished Presenters

Over the years, Golden Globes® nominations have been presented by numerous stars including Alfre Woodard, America Ferrera, Angela Bassett, Anna Kendrick, Cedric “The Entertainer,” Chloë Grace Moretz, Christian Slater, Dakota Fanning, Danai Gurira, Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell, Laura Dern, Snoop Dogg, Terry Crews, and Wilmer Valderrama, among many others.

A Global Celebration of Film, Television, and Podcasting

Nicknamed “Hollywood’s Party of the Year®,” the Golden Globes remain the world’s largest awards show celebrating excellence in film, television — and now podcasting. The ceremony is produced by Dick Clark Productions and broadcast in more than 185 countries and territories.

Paramount+ Premium subscribers can stream the live broadcast through their local CBS affiliate and on demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers will have access to the ceremony on demand the following day.
