The words marathon is a cultural manifestation that is held every year in Toulouse. The principle is simple: authors read their texts, actors read others.
Two years ago, the marathon of words migrated to Tunis, and became Al Kalimat. This year we are at the second edition to be held from April 5 to 7, 2013.
A rich and varied program, three days during which Tunisian and strange authors will be read by actors like Fathi Haddaoui, Hélène Catzaras, men of letters, filmmakers and jurists will animate debates during the round tables. Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, in his capacity as president of the association “The marathon of words”, will chair this festival, in collaboration with the Tunisian association Ness El Fann, of Sihem Belkhodja.
The festival will be held in different places and cultural spaces, in addition to libraries and bookstores. He will be closed with a concert. The inauguration will be at the Tunis municipal theater today, at 6 p.m., with a reading of poems and musical accompaniment:

• Fathi Heddaoui read poems from Sghaïer Ouled Ahmed,
• Marianne Catzaras read poems by Mahmoud Darwich,
• Jacques Martial will read texts by Aimé Césaire.

The session will be followed by an interview with the guest authors of the AL KALIMAT 2013 festival, led by Olivier POVRE D’ARVOR. At 8:30 p.m., Nicole Garcia read the first man of Albert Camus.

On Saturday April 6, 2013, at Maison Baron d’Erlanger, Sidi Bou Saïd, at 11:00 am and for the theme “Literature and resistances”, there will be a round table with Dalila Ben Mbarek Msaddek (I will take up arms, if necessary), Hélé Beji (Islam Pride), Tristan Jordis (the courageous will die in the battle,), Wassyla Anger: Algiers letter to disillusioned Europeans) and Charif Majdalani (our brief years of glory). Hosted by Olivier Poivre d’Arvor.

We will continue at 3:00 pm with the theme “Media and power”; Round table with Ghazi Ghraïri, Secretary General of the International Academy of Constitutional Law, Cyril Karray, Hachemi Ghozali (Revue Rukh), Akram Belkaïd, journalist and essayist, specialist in the Arab world (meeting the Maghreb, and a calm look at Algeria), in the presence of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor. Hosted by Marc Vochet.

The evening will be devoted to the theme “Women’s voice”, to the municipal theater, Tunis, with a round table “Women’s words” at 6:00 pm, Salwa Al Neimi (Arabian peninsula), Dalila Ben Mbarek Msaddek, Wassyla Tamzali and Olfa Youssef (writer and Tunisian academic specialized in linguistics, psychoanalysis and Islamology will speak of their books. Adler, and at 7:00 p.m. by a concert by Jeanne Cherhal Piano Solo.

The festival will be closed on Sunday April 7, 2013 at the municipal theater, Tunis, from 11:00 am with a show of young people entitled “Letters to my Too Ness”

It should be noted that these days are supported by the French Embassy in Tunis, the French Institute, the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the National Center for Book and France Culture. Entrance will be free throughout the event.
