The second edition of the Mediterranean Poetry Festival in Tunis will take place on November 19 at Ennejma Ezzahra on the initiative of the Cervantes Institute in Tunisia
For the second consecutive year, the two banks of the “Nostrum pond” meet at the Enejma Ezzahra palace, with the Mediterranean in the background and female poetry as a protagonist. Organized by the Institute Cervantes de Tunis, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Tunis and the Center for Arab and Mediterranean Music of Sidi Bou Saïd (Ministry of Cultural Affairs), the second edition of the Mediterranean poetry festival will sedourse on November 19 at 6.30 p.m.
This year, Spanish and Tunisian poets will be the guests of the festival. Note the presence of the Galician Yolanda Castaño, winner of the National Prize for Poetry in Spain in 2023 for her work “Materia”, the Basque Miren Agur Meabe Plaza, winner of the same prize in 2021 for “Cómo Guardar Ceniza in El Pecho”, and the Sevillane Rocío Rojas Marcos, poetess and professor of Arab and Islamic Studies The University of Seville.
From Tunisia, will be welcomed Saloua Rebhi, a poetess awarded by the Credif Prize for female literature in 2008 for “Hagiography of Forgotten Tables” and the Prix des Journées de Carthage in 2019 for “Consciences of the deluge”, Sonia Madouri, poetness, novelist and translator, recipient of many literary prices, and Afrah Jebali, painter and Arabic language teacher. The recital will be led by Asma Tlili, Spanish professor and animator on RTCI.
