The SEE Djerba festival will take place from August 14 to 17 and will take place in two sequences. The first will take place in Houmt Bouss from August 14 to 16 and the second in Guellala on August 17. Festival events are scheduled at free entry from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The theme of See Djerba for this year is entitled Water and Earth. Indeed, this edition invites artists and public to explore the natural and cultural landscapes of Djerba through the prism of water and earth, two elements that shape the daily life of the island, its symbolic imagination and its future ecological.
Since 2017, See Djerba has transformed the island into an open -air media art gallery, in close collaboration with local communities. Starting from an initiative to Houmt Souk, the festival has become an island platform for creation, experimentation and cultural dialogue.
The strengths of this edition will be declined through media installations and projections in public spaces and heritage sites with the participation of local and international artists from more than ten countries.
The themes addressed will relate to biodiversity, archive maps, body and earth rituals and geopoetics of material cultures.
