Tunisian actor and producer Habib Chaâri, father of the late Sofiane Chaâri, died this Friday, February 21, 2025.
Emblematic figure of Tunisian cinema, he marked the history of the seventh art by embodying significant roles in many films, notably those of the director Amar Khlifi.
He thus played inal Fajr (1966), the first Tunisian feature film after independence, followed by Al Moutamarred (1968), Al Fallaga (1970) -selected at the Golden Award of the Moscow International Film Festival in 1971 -, Le Cri (1972) and Le Défi (1986).
Beyond his acting career, Habib Chaâri has also contributed to film production and supervised the realization of several Tunisian television series.
May God grant him his mercy.
