The Cairo International Film Festival continues to reveal its selection for its 45th edition, which will be held from November 15 to 24, 2023.
A few days before, A first part of the selection of films in international competition had already been revealed. Today, the long -awaited announcement is that of the selection of the film To my sounddirected by Dhafer the Abidinein competition in the section “Horizons of Arabic cinema. »»
To my sound is a production of MBC Studios and marks the second feature film directed by the famous Tunisian star. The story focuses on the return to Saudi Arabia of a father and his son after a long period spent abroad, marked by a tragic accident.
It should also be noted that Ghodwathe first film directed by Dhafer the Abidine, had been scheduled during the 43rd Cairo Film Festival, where he had won the prestigious Prize for Fipresci Critics. The film had been screened during a gala evening with red carpet, attracting a large and enthusiastic audience.
Before venturing into the field of realization, Dhafer the Abidine began his artistic career as an actor in the early 2000s in foreign works. He became known in Tunisia after participating in several local works, including the series Maktoub in 2008 as well as in films such as El Dawaha in 2009 and Late December in 2010. His fame increased in the Arab world after his participation in several Egyptian dramatic works, of which Vertigo In 2012, Neran Sadeqa In 2013, FArq Tawqit In 2014, Tahet al-Saytara In 2015, Oreedo Rajolan In 2015, Halawet El Dounia alongside Hend Sabry in 2017 and Eugenie nights in 2018. Then, thanks to the huge success of Beirut Aroussthe Lebanese series which lasted 3 seasons in 2019/2020 and 2021. The public also appreciated it in films such as Abu Chnab in 2016 and Caramel in 2017.
