The Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), presided over by renowned Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy, has officially announced the dates for its 47th edition, which will take place from November 11 to 20, 2026.
In this context, CIFF President Hussein Fahmy expressed his deep gratitude to the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, led by Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, for its generous patronage and continuous support. He emphasized that this partnership represents the true guarantee of the festivalâs ongoing success and leadership across the Arab and African cultural landscape. Fahmy also extended his thanks to all strategic partners, sponsors, and supporting institutionsâboth local and internationalâas well as the media organizations that carry the responsibility of sharing the festivalâs cultural message. He further acknowledged the filmmakers, directors, producers, technical teams, and jury members whose contributions have shaped past editions and reinforced the CIFFâs distinguished artistic standing.
For his part, the Festivalâs Artistic Director, Mohamed Tarek, underlined that the audience remains the guiding compass and ultimate goal of all the teamâs efforts. He paid special tribute to cinema lovers and their enduring passion, revealing that the previous edition achieved record-breaking figures, with ticket sales reaching 45,000âa remarkable increase of 5,000 compared to the year before. The artistic management now aims to double this number and welcome an even broader audience for the upcoming edition.
The Cairo International Film Festival thus looks forward to welcoming its guests and audiences to its 47th edition, continuing its legacy as a hub of creativity and a beacon for world cinema since its founding in 1976.
